Tarbert Seafood Festival | 2011

The Tarbert Seafood Festival is a local heritage event that combines the sale and promotion of local seafood, the fishing industry here, cooking of the local produce and entertainment and celebration by the community.
The event features live cooking demonstrations from a selection of local chefs and has been supported by Nick Nairn appearing from 2004-2009 to public acclaim. There is also a huge selection of seafood and local produce you can taste and buy from this location.
For children and families there a selection of street entertainment, music and inflatable fun including face painters and stalls for you to browse.
Held annually in the first full weekend in July, the Tarbert Seafood Festival is a heritage event held in a stunning and beautiful setting.

2011 Schedule
Saturday
11:00 am Stalls open,food,crafts,plants
12:00 pm Cookery demonstrations at the quayside- Oscar Sinjorgo from Stonefield, Billy Broderick from The Anchor Hotel, Ryan Glen from Starfish and Pascal Theze from The Victoria.
1:00 pm / 1:30 pm The Seafood Queen is brought across the harbour and piped along the street, finishing with her crowning at The Tarbert Hotel Balcony
2:00 pm Children's Parade starts from Tarbert Fire Station, The Seafood Queen and Princesses will lead the parade and be accompanied by a pipe band.
2:30 pm Dance Demonstrations by highland dancers from Rothesay and Campbeltown, Tarbert's own Wee Highland Dancers, Tarbert School dance troupe.
3:00 pm Ready steady cook off. Music from Tarbert Primary School Choir, Tarbert Music Centre and Tarbert Academy Folk Group.
3:30 pm Sheep shearing demonstration
Sunday
2.00 pm DeVille will start the event rocking, followed by local band Mamas Got a Brand New Band.
3.00 pm Prizegiving
4.00 pm Music from Deville to finish
